Cleared SME's Pashto, Urdu, Arabic, Spanish (Social Cultural Analyst)

Duties/ Responsibilities:

The Social Cultural Analyst & Subject Matter Expert (SME) will perform research and development, evaluation, and analysis while applying his/her regional foreign area expertise and native speaker foreign language skills to help introduce new methodologies, novel processes and technologies into intelligence practices and cultural awareness programs. Tasks include the assessment of existing cultural awareness programs, preparing cultural assessments, and exploring consequences, as well as defining and designing innovative methods to teach and instill cultural awareness. This work involves data collection, contextual and/or literal translation coupled with research and analysis involving cultural, military, commerce-related, historic, economic, geopolitical and religious matters. Social Cultural Analyst SMEs must produce Cultural Profiles, Battlespace Operations Reports, Policy Stance Recommendations, Targeting Folders/Cultural Plans, a database of US Foreign Policies, Cultural Awareness Program Effectiveness Assessments. SMEs are also required to provide full spectrum Open Source research support ranging from trend analysis and threat forecasting, to data compilation and correlation.

Each Social Cultural Analyst & SME will be responsible for a major regional area of interest, including Russia, China, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America.


Travel Requirements: 25-30%


Education and Experience Requirements:

The Social Cultural Analyst & SMEs shall possess superior foreign language skills and high degree of knowledge of cultural matters such as geopolitical, military, religious, educational, commerce, historical, economic, and other such related issues applicable to their geographic areas of expertise. Formal education should include advanced degrees related to language studies, international relations, international business, anthropology, behavioral sciences, historians, or other culturally appropriate studies. The Social Cultural Analyst & SME must have Level 5 (well-educated native speaker skill) listening, reading and speaking proficiency in either: Russian, Chinese Mandarin, Chinese Cantonese, Malaysian or Indonesian, Urdu, Farsi, Pashto, Punjabi, Arabic, Somali, Swahili, Spanish and Portuguese. Successful candidates will be multilingual, i.e. Spanish/Portuguese, Punjabi/Urdu, etc. SMEs must also have at least five (5) years specialized subject matter expertise and experience. US citizenship with current Final Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Specialize Compartmented Information is an absolute must.
